In the last 18 months has been awful for our family financially. My husband went from a $ 55000/yr, to be fired and just bringing in $ 1,400 a month. I was a student about to complete three years of college. Therefore, I have student loans and other debts stupid (personal loans for a laptop, school supplies not covered my student aid, misc things, rent). MedlinePlus We have two children, 7-year-old and a year 2. MedlinePlus In the last 18 months, we have lost our home due to foreclosure, losing our car because reposession, lost our savings because of my loving husband to spend money on things (a boat, trailer, motor, motorcycle snow, etc.). MedlinePlus I have a lot of "small" debts on my credit report, unpaid utility bills, student loan failure, the old cell phone bills, defaulted personal loans, etc. My husband and I had separated by time, and although separated, came down to pay the rent and food or the "small" bills. Now these small accounts have reappeared to bite me in the ***. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus My husband and I have been going together for about six months. We had to rent a house and buy a cheap ($ 500) car to drive until we get back on our feet. In addition, the trailer and boat was sold, like snowmobiling. We use that $ to catch up on current bills, not to pay the debt. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus In total, we have about $ 30,000 of debt, including consumer debt, student loans, the "small" bills on our credit reports and a personal loan (which led us to try to stop the foreclosure of the house). MedlinePlus MedlinePlus We horrible credit. I'm stressed beyond, and have been handing out resumes like crazy, and finding a job (not easy in a small small town!). My husband has a new job (one month) that pays $ 61,000 a year (before taxes). He brings in about $ 2500 a month, I bring in about $ 340 a month. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus This is how our accounts per month break ... MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Rent-$ 1.300 MedlinePlus Utilities (water, heat, hydro) MedlinePlus approx $ 300 MedlinePlus Car insurance $ 100 MedlinePlus Car gas $ 150 MedlinePlus Groceries $ 350 Phone / Cable / Net MedlinePlus $ 100 With $ 40 MedlinePlus Diapers, wipes, toiletries $ 50 MedlinePlus Repayment of debt $ 1,100 (to make the minimum payments) MedlinePlus Home (cleaning, repairs, etc.) $ 40 MedlinePlus $ 100 MedlinePlus Drug MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Our loans are: MedlinePlus MedlinePlus $ 11,000 personal loan MedlinePlus Student loan $ 8400 MedlinePlus and tons of "small" bills that have sat on our credit for a long time and need to be gone, totaling approximately $ 7,000 MedlinePlus MedlinePlus And as we took our car, you still have to pay for missed payments while the car was, and what happens to that loan as it is reposessed? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus We are seriously considering filing for bankruptcy to get this resolved. My thought is, if you declare bankruptcy, then all that is gone, and will be easier to build our credit without having to catch up, when our monthly liquidity crisis is serious as it is. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus How does bankruptcy work in Ontario Canada? We have no assets but desperatly want to clean up and rebuild our credit so we can start over and do things right this time ... help!
