I had an unusual problem with my financial aid. I was approved for financial aid in the fall of 2011 and accepted the scholarship and student loans for winter / spring 2012 semester at my university. Semester began in January and to date I have not received any money from my student loans or grants. I could buy my textbooks and school supplies, and if I had the money in the bank, I would have bought it already. I have repeatedly talked to the financial aid advisors and told them about my situation, but act like I was a nuisance and simply say "be patient" and "financial assistance will come soon." Typical responses canned'm assuming they are told to give students. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Regularly attend my classes in class 3, but have not been able to start my online class, which requires an expensive book and other instructional CD-ROM. Until I am able to buy this book and CD package, I can not start the lessons in class. I'm not one to enroll in a class and not do any work, and it would be a complete and total waste of time and gave me the appearance of being careless or lazy, I'm not. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus It gets worse. Today, I received a message notifying me that my financial aid would be reduced because he "did not attend" one of my classes 4, with 1 being my online course. I can not even start my online class until you receive the funds to buy the materials needed for the class. If I do not receive my financial aid soon, I finally could leave the course online. Not to mention, I need my financial help to pay basic living expenses and a small amount will make the situation even more complicated. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I'd like to hear from anyone who has had this problem or know the best way to handle the problem. I am a student with a good GPA no reason for this to be happening. I have family and friends who attend other institutions where they receive their financial support at the beginning of the semester and are able to purchase textbooks / materials and pay rent either in time or within a week of the initial semester. I'm not sure why it's different in my situation. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Now, in the 5th week of school, still have not received anything and financial aid advisors is not being cooperative. They are not motivated to help and minimize the gravity of my situation. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus What are my options? Is there anything I can do to remedy the situation? I thought about going to my local news station to see if they would publish an article about this issue, as other students have done this and they put together a news story on this topic. I will go to the news station if needed, but honestly, I just want to correct the problem instead of causing trouble or potentially making things worse. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I would appreciate any suggestions you may have about this strange problem. Thanks for your time and care.

Have you been in contact with the professor for the course on- line ? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Have you asked the students to know if they happen to know someone who might can lend that book and DVD ? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Have you asked your advisor if you have any suggestions ? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus When you say " approved for financial aid in the fall of 2011 " ... Do you mean actually approved by FAFSA or approved by the school with a letter given Fin Aid Award ? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus and when I say this : " accepted my scholarship and student loans for winter semester / spring 2012 " .... Can you tell us when you accepted that?
