Basically , my wife 's mother is very ill . She needs a large sum of cash to cover their medical treatment , which basically could extend his life greatly. My wife loves his mom so much and wants us to help , we do not have the required amount . I was considering the cash loan , so we can help . However, I'm worried I will not be able to pay , and it's going to buckle , will be a perfect fit . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus If you can not repay the loan , how you look in bankruptcy court ?

The MIL must be requested charity care ( or discount ) . Then it might make sense to help pay the discounted amount . But no. Possible discount if you pay in advance

If you are not able to repay the loan , the bank probably will not approve your money first . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Why your MIL needs * cash * for medical treatment ? Are you uninsured ? And she can not make a payment plan with the doctor for the balance ?

never borrow money for a loan to a third party . MedlinePlus period . no exceptions. MedlinePlus if your wife wants to ignore this rule , then she is alone . NO cosigner . MedlinePlus send it to the bank only .
