12 days ago , I sent a check to pay my monthly tuition bill . To this day , I called my bank to see if the check had been cleared yet, and have not already done so. I do not know if the check is in transit to my loan company or simply lost in the mail , but it is dangerously close to the expiration date , I decided to just pay online . However, I am still concerned about the lack of verification. If received , I have no problem with them using it to pay the next month . But what if you lose ? Should I issue a stop payment , suck it up and pay the $ 30 fee , or should I wait to see if my check never reaches the company ? So how long does it take for a personal check to expire and become null?

You better stop payment on the account . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Since you have paid online , you have at school is clean. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus the problem is if you come to school just put it in the bank . You have discovered and will be even more fees to pay . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Or worse , it would be clear, then all other checks are bouncing , and will have huge costs !
