UOP screwed me! The enrollment counselor told me it would cost just under $ 10K for my degree accociates IT (Information Technology). Let me explain a little, I have 37 years, a low-income family of self employed, married for 20 years and has three children, 19, 15, and 3. I wanted to help my husband out and thought a degree would help me get a good paying job. (Wait.. Let me laugh and mourn a bit and then come back) OK. So, six months in my courses, I realized it was lame, I'm learning almost nothing. Nothing that I learned on my own by reading my books, not a thing of UOP. Curriculum is ridiculous, messy, the instructor does not seem too close to her or helpful. The main thing is the price! I tried to leave it six months, around October 09. The financial adviser said I would have to pay like $ 6000. I wondered how much would ya? I was not even halfway through the program. I also asked why he seemed to be having so much money? You can check your account online, I could not figure out how I was going to meet with each class taking more than $ 1,000. But with all my confusion and questions, no one clued me how much I would pay. I'm scared to the point mourn when I think about it! How can they do this to people? It is totally wrong! I know I was clear in my questions. When I ask how much it will cost to get my degree, for example, $ 9500, it should be much I have to pay! I was waiting for the Federal Pell Grant to pay about half, which he did, but still have more than triple the original loan amount when finished. Besides that, the rest of my classes are only required regular college classes like science, ethics, mathematics .. I'm probably not better after this huge load of money I owe. A UOP grade likely associated not mean too. Especially if I do not do things on my own and learn a few programming language, etc! MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I do not know what to do. Can anyone give me some good advice? I would be happy to exit the program and we only Federal Pell Grants back. I feel completely fucked.

After looking at what I'm going to a community college. It costs about half that of the University of Phoenix . My state, New York , is a state university learning web page that lists the programs that can be taken online and go with the distance education course CS ( SUNY Learning Network )

I am going to UOP for IT as well. Get out as soon as you can, you are about to be thrown into an algorithms class that you will have no clue what is going on. I am in week 7 and have been winging it this entire time. You should be able to talk to your academic couselor. They will try and talk you into staying, but stick with your guns. My husband had failed a set of classes and they told him that he could retake those classes and he wouldn't be charged for the first time taking the classes. He failed a second time and never went back, he now owes them for the classes that he retook. Its crazy! I am seriously considering calling my advisor on monday because there is no way I can pass these classes. They are getting harder and harder, it is a pain in the butt now, just wait a couple weeks, then its a pain in the you know what.
