I had trouble getting my financial aid counselor so I began googling University of Phoenix financial disbursement calendar and similiar searches , during which I discovered several complaints about the online university . MedlinePlus I have two questions for current students / older employees of the University of Phoenix / University : Axia MedlinePlus 1) I start classes tomorrow ( 8/9/10) and completed a waiver authorization to hold funds and a direct deposit form . The website says faw.phoenix.edu I completed my FAFSA , pay , etc . When I can expect to receive excess funds (reimbursements ) ? MedlinePlus 2) After reading the complaints of many ( former ) students reported against the university seemed most of them were aware of the financial aid processes / loan agreements. I attended a traditional 4- year college in the past and understand the rules of loans / grants to attendence / academic performance goes , however , I am a little confused about the authorization to dispose of funds . I hope I have misunderstood something about the way this online driving school financial aid . Please inform me !
The low down on University of Phoenix Axia College?0a. ridge2012-09-24 02:09:02
I 'm doing bad rap both UOP Axia online college that do not know what to believe . I have applied for registration but have not been reported so far if I have been accepted or not . I met many people who complain about scams and teachers do not respond to your questions , etc etc. Anyone have a positive experience ? I want to get my degree but I work two jobs and UOP Axia college seems like a good option and is affordable, if I have to get loans to pay for it , but the refund once I complete my degree should be quick and easy . Since I have not been notified yet I have time to separate fact from fiction so if I want to get accepted and I have 3 days to do so without penalty , but I've done research for several months and have found what I thought were good things with online education , but now I've taken a step to acceptance 'm finding sites scams and people who say do not know what to believe . Any information would be appreciated!

I am currently a student of University of Phoenix at axia (online campus), and have a question about credits..?1eng2012-08-09 18:14:03
I'm almost finished earning my associates degree, and is very demanding work. I put anywhere from 55-65 hours a week at my job and am considering taking a break until you get a little more acclimated , I have yet to complete some training , etc. Does anyone know if I can withdraw my student loan renewal and take a break, but still keep my credits to return later this year or early , possibly next year? When credits expire ? Thanks to whoever can help me.

Withdrawing from a university before a financial aid disbursement is issued?0Jenifer2012-09-09 15:32:02
Hello ! I need serious answers here everyone ! My financial aid loan term is of 11.08 through 11.09 and is only partially disbursed. I am due to a payment in a few weeks . I'm not happy with my current university and wish to withdraw . The financial aid department says if I retire I will not have money in my new school until after November. So, my question is should I go ahead and stay enrolled in this school I am at the moment until after the release and then removed so you can use the money left at the next school. Is this possible ? I am currently attending Ashford University Online and this school has done nothing but rob me asking the lender to withdraw $ 99,999.99 over four years for my student loan . I think this is an extraordinary amount of money ! I am also upset with the way the system works and how they make us pay $ 1,062 for the class we drop . They are a group of thieves . So can anyone help please?
Has anyone else had financial aid problems with the University of Phoenix?0Latonie2012-10-13 02:38:08
I enrolled in the University of Phoenix in March 2008 for an associate degree in accounting. I had two math classes that are supposed to take at the end of my course syllabus, but tested for credits instead. I have tested and approved in December and classes were not scheduled to occur until February. I finished my last two classes at the end of January and both my academic and financial adviser were informed in advance. There was an excess of loan disbursement in store for these two math classes in my account by $ 2,080. My financial advisor said there was a possibility that the lender, Wells Fargo, I would back excessively. Last week I wrote and told me that the hotel was in the mail. . . not to mention Wells Fargo. Then I received a letter from the lender UOP was requesting a refund of $ 1546.38. They claim that the money sent to Wells Fargo, so I had to pay for it. I thought it was strange that I sent the return and then a separate check to the lender, rather than send the lender the amount requested and the difference to me. I called Wells Fargo and was informed by representatives of three different funds already disbursed never ask again and there is no record of such redemption request or university. My financial aid UOP representative tells me he does not know why I said that when they did request it. The bank is sending me two letters confirming our conversations. The third bank representative I spoke with offered a little insight to the odd number. He said there would be a payment for that amount at the end of February, but was never sent to UOP, so there is no logical reason that I will pay. I also said the prepayment requested by Wells Fargo are handled via letter directly to me and that the school should not be involved in the process of returning the federal loans. I do not know what to do because I'm afraid I will retain my title and send me to collections or something. Has anyone experienced anything like it, and what you did?
University of Phoenix financial Aid Question?0somadina2012-11-05 01:23:03
I have a friend who chose to manage her own funds and got direct deposit. The money was loans from the government and her and her husband have a joint account and her husband used the money to pay for something. She now does not have enough money to pay for her next block of classes which start in a few weeks. What will happen will the government come after her or only the school? Will she be able to attend another school while she is paying it back? The first block of classes was paid for she is in those classes now the next block hasnt started yet.
University of Phoenix Degree Online? Prerequisites? Financial Aid? Help!?0rashid2012-09-26 07:23:06
This probably sounds completely stupid. So, forgive me. I know absolutely nothing about college or what I'm doing, but I know what I want. Therefore, if necessary, please feel free to talk to me like I was an ignorant child (in simple terms), but please do not be condescending. I would get on the right track. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I have two main questions: How I can get financial aid for this? And how I can get the required credits? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus As background, I have been waiting to college starting since he was a junior in high school. I asked my councilor if I start applying for scholarships and she laughed and said no. (Well, looks like it should be, because once I had beaten last year I had none, and once I graduated, I could be well despite an average of 3.6.) So I am in a loss. I applied for many scholarships. I did not even get any response. My teachers told me that probably was not getting any because many others were. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus So, I graduated with no scholarship ready. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus So, once I graduated, I realized I had to get some money saved. I wanted a job but could not find one for almost a year. Now, two years after graduation I feel I have to start working on my original plans or never will. I do not want to go to a normal school, and after seeing my options, I decided on the University of Phoenix, get an online degree. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Finally, I would like to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in English degree. It has under its prerequisites I need a few classes to get there. I know I need an associates degree. But, of the two associates degrees set to get a bachelor's degree, the classes are not the same as the prerequisites for licensure. I'm confused. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus How I can get the necessary "prerequisite" degree credits if they are in degrees of partners in the list? Do I have to be ordered separately as optional? That's a lot of electives! Or am I just missing something? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Also: financial aid. I do not do enough to get into college. I'll have to borrow money and seek federal funding, I guess. My bank offers loans, but I'd rather do something that does not require me to pay an arm and a leg for the rest of my life. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus So I'm back to the scholarships. Where I can get some? I already tried FastWeb, but have so far come to nothing. And my school was not very helpful with offering options. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Anything would help. Where I can get scholarships, loans and grants? People tell me that Obama has changed a lot in schools and funding, but do not really know about that. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Help, please! I feel ignorant and stupid for asking these questions, but I'm at a loss. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus To reiterate: MedlinePlus MedlinePlus 1) How I can get the credits? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus 2) How I can get financial aid? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Any help would be appreciated and would help me a lot. The website of the university seems rather vague and difficult to navigate, in my mind ... but maybe I'm missing something. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Anyone?
University of Phoenix financial aid process...Certification of Funds?0Rikki2012-10-19 14:28:27
I started attending the University of Phoenix online in April 2011. I am entering my last year of school, but since I've had nothing but a nuisance when it comes time for me to get my refund of my student loans. I understand the mistake I did attend this college. I had previously attended Penn State, but after the death of my father I failed some courses and had some problems. The only reason I went to UOP was because it was so easy to get. I knew I could get in and raise my GPA before transferring to a better university. But I know I feel like I'm being forced to stay in UOP. If I stay then you have to pay for my classes and credits and grades will be held hostage. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Back to the point of financial aid. When I signed up I told my advisor I would need my refund to buy a new computer. He said there would be a problem. Once my student account was credited the balance refund not give it to me. They said it was policy to keep the funds for 30 days to ensure that the student may complete the classes and not just take the money. After a lot of trouble and somehow get to talk to a person head I have my money. Next semester the refund after 21 days. For UOP policy should be disbursed to the student after 14 days of credit to the account. Finally, I wrote my FA advisor (who never returned any of my calls or e-mails) and told him I would contact legal representation if money was paid to me in 24 hours (after all, I have it in the impression that it is only 14 days). My money was disbursed that day. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Now, December 05, I started my new semester. To date, I have never received an award letter or my financial aid has been credited to my account. I contacted my academic advisor contact my advisor FA. She said she sent my file to the certification by the end of November and it will take 4-6 weeks to get my award letter. First, what is this certification? Do with UOP or Department of Education? Also, when I started attending received my award letter in two weeks. How could you get so fast? Also, why did he wait until the end of November to send my file for certification? My average is 3.75. I made all A's and one B. I've never been in danger of being expelled for any problem. And, I have never dropped or transfer any course. I've done a lot of research, but can not find information on the certification process. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus This is not the same verification process through the Department of Education when you need copies of tax returns and other information. I had to provide any additional information. My advisor FA said my financial aid is fine and I get the quantities I'm supposed to. However, it requires certificate. Am I being jerks out there? Is this a real part of the process? Any information on this or any other action to be taken would be greatly appreciated. As I explained, I depend on that money to help my survival, while I try to better myself.
University of Phoenix financial aid excess funds question?0Susanna2012-11-03 13:33:17
Just yesterday my pell grant and loan money went through on my UOP account and I'm expecting a refund of about $3000. I'm told that the excess funds check can usually be expected anywhere from 2-4 weeks, but I have signed up for direct deposit. University of Phoenix students, how long after your funds were posted to your UOP account was it transferred to your bank account? Thanks!
