Stafford loan application is an automatic process when you have completed the FAFSA and the school calculates the amount you receive . What you can do is ask that the maximum amount applies to his aid package , saying there are still unmet needs with respect to his ed. and cost of care.
After the maximum subsidized loan , which will add an unsubsidized Stafford loan for your budget. If you can justify your need, then usually subnit another application in the office of the fin aid.
While the award does not exceed the cost of care, receive the maximum support to help you.
I do not advise you to tell a fin aid officer that you want to buy a car to school - which is not an essential need of the school [ public transport is always]
But if you already have a car , and you have overdue bills and payments, then with the right attitude and approach , which can be considered as a real necessity.
You may want to consider an alternative student loan with a creditworthy cosigner to supplement their assistance and desire, there is no need for a car.
Also ensure that wage increases are new in place with the help package.FAFSA not change by accepting a loan , the results only changed with the financial statements , income and dependency status . As indep . students are bigger prizes if your EFC is lower.
You can get in loans you want, but can not exceed the cost of care. There fed'l loan limits depending on the year of the university and the state , ie , ninth , tenth, etc. .....

No, not affect the results of the FAFSA next year . The loans do not count as income on the FAFSA.
