I loaned my car to my astringent husband for 2 hours. He never brought it back. The police are not helping me?

I've been separated from my husband for a few months . He had come home for 10 days.He asked to use my car (which was in my name only) for an appointment. So I lent it to him. The 2 hours passed and never returned. We have 5 children . It was my transportation to my job / baby sitters . Police said wait one week and will be making a report . Now do nothing. What I can do legally ? He has a history of methamphetamine use.I just know that he could be in Portland . And I can not get a cab to the nanny and work? With little or no money , and the holidays are here , what I can do? Please help .

if you gave permission to use your veh , not technically stolen. Sorry.

Report the vehicle as stolen . If you knew he had a meth problem , why in the world you lend your car? .

I think you mean apart. They are not helping the police because he lent . If borrowed , not stolen.

It would be considered unauthorized use, not theft, as you lent it to him. The police have to wait a period of time before they can do anything, as he might bring it back. Usually, the police can't even get involved until its been 24 hours, but that varies by department.

Best thing to do (a little unethical loophole in the system), tell the police you think he might hurt himself and they will put out a well being check on him and give a description of the car. By doing this, all towns are notified about it (via CJIS computer) and they will stop and hold him.

Edit: Five days??? Report it stolen.
