I went through a radiology technician program ( i have x-rays ) , sponsored by two local hospitals . what is known as a hospital -based program . You can make around 30,000 to start or much more , depending on where you live , if you want to be a technician traveling or train in other areas such as CT scanning , mammography , ultrasound . MedlinePlus It usually takes two years of training to get going , but it's a great opportunity and a good life . It only cost me about 1,000 a year to go as it was sponsored by hospitals . if you are interested , write an edit to your question and I will give the name of the school you went to.

Welder. The class is a few hundred dollars, takes a few months to get your basic welders license, and you can get out of there making $15 an hour, or more.

By the way, welders are in high demand right now, there are not enough welders to do the jobs that need to be done so your chances of getting a grant are excellent, you may not have to pay anything!
